Let me love you…

All last night and this morning, God has been talking to me saying, “Let Me love you...” It moved me to tears and even prostrate because I had to admit that I did not know how. We as Christians get into our "faith works" and are willing to be martyrs for God! But what is our motive? Is it the works, so I can say, “Look at what I did and how God responded?”, or, “See how God moved because I [fill in your awesomeness here]?” It is not by might nor by power, but by the Spirit, says the Lord (Zachariah 4:6). To yield, is to admit you have no individual power or authority to do anything on your own. Jesus said, ‘I of myself can do nothing unless I see My Father do it’ (John 5:19). This is the blessing of entering into His rest.

This Word reminded me of the elder brother in the parable of the prodigal son. Isn't it interesting how the immature and wasteful knew how to receive from God but the huios presbyteros, or spiritually mature elder, did not. He was so caught up in his "faith work" that he never enjoyed the presence of the Lord. And when he realized that his immature and wasteful brother was celebrating he was wroth, or had wrath toward him. Stop and ponder this... The immature and wasteful brother was inside the house feasting. The spiritually mature elder was outside the house doing the work of the hired help. The Father said to him, "This has always been available for you to enjoy. Don't be angry at your brother because he received it." Or, "Let Me love you, too."

My challenge to you is to no longer strive and work for the unconditional love you cannot earn. Instead, let God love you with all His spiritual and natural blessings and tell of the great things He has done!
