Covenant College South Africa is an extension of Covenant College United Kingdom founded in 1980 by Bryn Jones. Both campuses were established with the purpose of equipping men and women with firm foundational biblical principles to reach the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The school and ministry are now managed by Gareth and Sandra Duffty who facilitate a ministry organization called Together: For Christ His Kingdom and His Church (Together). Since the founding of Covenant College, hundreds of students have been trained and empowered to fulfill the call of God in their lives. Building on its rich heritage, Covenant College strives to remain at the cutting edge of our rapidly changing world. Working together, the instructors are committed to releasing God’s people into their own callings and seeing a mature church raised up, displaying Christ’s fullness in the world.
A new generation of ministers

I have known Sandra and Gareth for several years and heard of their ministry for many. I have had the blessing of participating in Apostolic Round Tables with them both domestically and abroad. Though we have had the conversation concerning my coming to serve as a bible teacher over the years, this year I feel the nudge of the Holy Spirit. It is so strong, in fact, it was confirmed by my dear friend and chaplain coach. She simply looked at me and said, “You must go on this trip. God has something there for you.” And with that, she sowed the first seed into this ministry assignment.
The ministry Gareth and Sandra lead, Together, is so dear to my heart. It is a piece of my heritage of faith. In addition to being a 3rd generation minister (my late grandmother, and mother, are both ministers), Bryn Jones mentored and trained my spiritual mentors. Covenant College is the tool God used to birth ministry in me. And now, I have the blessed opportunity to birth this ministry into the next generation.

It is such a blessing to me to know my heritage of faith. The words that Paul pinned to Timothy leap off the page to me (2 Timothy 1:5-7, English Standard Version), “I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well. For this reason, I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love, and self-control.”
With this trip, I believe God is expanding my ministry reach to do what was done for me over a decade ago. I am elated about this opportunity. When God opens doors like this, you take His hand in full trust and walk through them.
I will be chronicling my ministry experience and spiritual formation development to share with all of you!
