There are more for you than against you
"John answered and said, 'Master, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name; and we tried to prevent him because he does not follow along with us.' But Jesus said to him, 'Do not hinder him; for the one who is not against you is for you.'" - Luke 9:49-50, New American Standard Version 2020
These two verses have been stirring in my heart. What if most of the adversity we perceive is from past experience and fear and the lens we look through is seeing acts and intentions that are not there? What if because a person is a "stranger" to us, we assume they are against us, yet they are not? What if we are creating the adversity we perceive where there is none?
Will there be people who set themselves against us called "haters"? Yes, I have experienced this. But not nearly as many times as I have perceived. If only one-third of the angels joined the Adversary, then doesn't that mean there are twice as many with the Father sharing His message of righteousness and good news?
Today, I'm challenging you with this. James, John, and Peter were the closest to Jesus and He took them places He took no one else. They still did not understand His heart and purpose for some things. Therefore, there are things you need to reexamine in your prayer time with the Lord. I'm challenging you to humble myself to hear His voice on things I believe I know ready to change position if necessary.
